Angel, I'm sorry, I lost my sweet friend.

Yes, absolutely, you can burn your cat. I had 2 cats who have lived 17 years, died the same year. Plus one of my other cat died after only one year. Her 3 cats burned.

The veterinarian will make a fee, of course. This is not something unusual, it is all the time. Call your veterinarian, or if not, to call. Since I'm on your cat for 17 years, I think you're a veterinarian. You are invited to bring the animals and send it to be cremated.

Make sure you tell them you want the ashes back (if applicable). It took about 2 weeks for the return of the ashes of my cat. He did it with dignity. The ashes were in a pretty container, floral. The container was wrapped in purple cloth and given in a small purple bag.

You can buy wooden crates for permanent storage of ashes. It will include the name of your cat, and everything you want on them. You can find them on the back of the magazine Cat Fancy. "I 3these beautiful pictures in a box. I have a photo of each cat with them.

You can do whatever you want. Your cat was his longtime friend.

Good luck to you.

I sympathize with your loss. I recently had one of my cats put to sleep. It was about 17. The vet that I connected with a local pet cemetery, where they had burned, placed in a box and the box has a beautiful stone in front.

Some veterinarians cremated and not others. You can consult a local pet / cat cemetery and ensure that they are burned. Sorry for your loss, it is very difficult, especially for me.

I just wanted to say sorry to hear at your loss. I had to share my "inherited", cat, Sissy to sleep yesterday. (Have I inherited from my sister, who died 2 1 / 2 years).

Most of the responses so far are great - not for me to add more. God bless you and give you comfort. For me, I know that Cecilia again with his brothers and sisters, especially my sister.
